Knitted Knockers UK is a charity that provides knitted and crocheted breast prostheses for women in the UK who have undergone a mastectomy or lumpectomy.
Women who have undergone surgery are provided with silicone breast prosthesis by the NHS, which some have found to be uncomfortable, heavy and may rub against the scars left after surgery, causing rashes and pain.
At Knitted Knockers UK we want women to know that there is a lightweight, 100% cotton alternative that takes the form of a real breast, is soft against the skin and is breathable.
We also provide a knitted prosthesis that is suitable for swimming and sports.

Orders and Management:
Women can order their knitted knockers through the website via a form. These are free.
This form would then create an “order” but would be shown to logged in members in the form of a forum style post with a reference number.
Volunteers can see this initial order and choose if they want to take the order on by replying on the forum. An admin would then assign this to a specific user. It would make sense once assigned for it to disappear from the general forum.
The volunteer would then see this order / forum post on their dashboard to which they can add notes / images of progress, this will also send notifications to the respective users. Certain levels of user permissions would also be able to see this i.e. Admin / Trustee.
Volunteer Applications:
This would be via a form and once approved by admin would create a login for them (which is different permission levels / views depending on their application)
Sending Thanks:
Once people receive an order there will be a page on the website where they can submit their thanks which would, once approved by an admin, appear on the kind words page.
Shop 1:
This will be a small standard shop like they have on their current site. They want to use Paypal.
Shop 2:
This would be for logged in volunteers to order more Yarn and allow them to manage stock levels. All these products will not require payment.
