SEYH

The people behind it

We are a membership led organisation established in 2008 and are currently based in Leeds.

We represent, promote and connect social enterprise across the region.

All members of SEYH are either social enterprises themselves, or associates with a keen interest in the sector.

Here at SEYH we have 5 main aims to deliver to our members.

We will…

  • Develop a strong regional social enterprise network
  • Support existing and developing social enterprises
  • Research, represent and lobby on behalf of the sector
  • Promote and raise awareness of the sector externally
  • Explore new market opportunities for social enterprises to encourage growth

We have one member of staff, Ali Ward, who works 16 hours a week.  We have 4 directors on the board that come from the membership and we have volunteers that support us when required, mainly at events.

Social enterprise is our passion and through our membership and help we want to see every social enterprise meet their potential and flourish.

We run an annual conference and we also host an annual awards evening to celebrate the amazing work of social enterprises across the region.

We partner with others to run training courses and can offer advice on social investment.  We often signpost members to organizations that can support and help them.

Their Impact

We work with corporates to raise awareness of social enterprise.

We encourage business and the general public to buy from social enterprises.

We work with our national partners such as Social Value UK and Social Enterprise Mark to help social enterprises record and improve their social and environmental impact.

We aim to purchase from social enterprises whenever we can and we always think about the social and environmental impact of what we do and try to reduce it.
